Ranikhet is a hill station town situated in the Almora city of Uttarakhand state.
The altitude of Ranikhet is 1,869 metres above sea level. The total population size is 55,000 as per statistics of 2012.
Hindi and Sanskirit are consider the official languages and Kumaoni is the local language.
Ranikhet has been title of Queen’s Grassland. Tourist generally visit Ranikhet just because of its natural beauty and its appearance. Ranikhet becomes very cold in the winters and remains moderate in summers. The best time to visit is from March to October. Generally, Ranikhet gets snowfall in the winter season, particularly in the months of December, January and February. But in the rest of the months the weather of remains favorable.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 22 °C during summer but -3°C was recorded in the winter season.
